L’Islam turco in Europa: attivismo politico e conflitti interni

Da quando l’AKP ha preso il potere in Turchia, la presidenza degli Affari religiosi di Ankara è diventata allo stesso tempo uno strumento di influenza politica e un interlocutore privilegiato degli Stati europei

A partire dagli anni ’90, coloro che in Europa si identificano come “turchi” o che sono identificati come tali dall’opinione pubblica (non sempre si tratta degli stessi individui o gruppi) sono diventati più visibili, non solo fisicamente attraverso moschee e associazioni, ma anche socio-politicamente, attraverso un attivismo chiaramente identificabile e un entrismo talvolta preoccupante. Così, dal momento in cui l’Islam politico è salito al potere in Turchia nel 2002, e ancora di più da quando nel 2010 ha iniziato a controllarne tutte le leve, “l’Islam turco” cerca di svolgere il ruolo di “leader” dei musulmani europei, attraverso mezzi diversi e contraddittori, ma sempre saldamente collegati alle questioni interne turche. Quanto accade in Turchia a livello politico, sociologico o identitario influisce direttamente sulle periferie di Colonia, Strasburgo, Bruxelles o Amsterdam, così come sulle regioni della Grecia, della Bulgaria e del Kosovo in cui si trovano delle minoranze. Quest’articolo cercherà innanzitutto di chiarire alcuni concetti e stereotipi che riguardano il tema dei “turchi in Europa”, quindi analizzerà gli attori e i promotori dell’Islam turco in Europa occidentale e orientale per poi terminare con un approfondimento sul conflitto in corso tra “l’Islam ufficiale” e il movimento Gülen.
